My front door always gets mouldy on the brickwork, (on the inside) In summer when its warmer, i can clean it and it will stay away until it starts getting cold and damp, no water is coming in, carpet is dry and all round by the door.

A builder told me get the door removed and get someone angle grind the brick, so there is a groove, for water to escape, but said he cant guarantee it will fix it.
Any ideas?
Tried uploading pics but saying too big,

Condensation.
Wall is cold, moisture from elsewhere e.g. bathroom or kitchen condenses there.

How can i cure it?
Its front door, no where near bathroom or kitchen, bathroom is up stairs, kitchen is 30+ feet away

Damp is water

The water is coming from somewhere. You can see it, we can't.

Maybe rain is getting in.

Might be a gutter or downpipe

Might be a leaking windowframe

Might be porch roof

Post photos inside and outside.

Maybe there is a plumbing leak.

Is the bathroom above? Show us sketch plans please.

Is there a radiator pipe?

Where does the water supply pipe run?

Is it a concrete floor?

Does anybody dry wet washing indoors?

You can copy and paste pics into your post.

We need to establish if the cause is condensation, damp or a leak

if its just a cold surface that is getting a tiny bit of condensation and thats getting mould then the cure is a warmer wall -ie insulated plasterboard or similar

what happened when you tried copy and paste?

Upload pic at reduced size? Reduce the quality a bit? Slap it into basic pic editing software on your pc/laptop/phone and reduce it? There are tons of options to ensure pics will upload within any limitations set by the site host :)
