The traditions of respect for our monarchy, the traditions of all the pomp and pageantry that draws in many, many thousand, if not millions, of visitors each year which brings in revenue to the tune of around £30 billion pounds into our economy. Add to this the respect that people around the world actually have for this country BECAUSE it is one of the few remaining which have a monarchy. There are probably a lot more reasons why people love the monarchy which I can't think of at the moment.

As I said in an earlier post, each to there own. I respect your opinion if you don't agree/like our monarchy. Hopefully others will respect mine when I say I do like and respect them.

There are quite a few monarchies in the world (44, just checked) but only one or two with all the regalia and ceremony that goes with them.
Some of the regalia and ceremonies are so different to UK's that they are frowned on, e.g. Jordan, Thailand.
 
Do all the mainstream channels really have to cancel most of the rest of the days programming?!

Every BBC radio station chuffing out the same guff, had to go to Planet Rock for music to work by, they are playing a more subdued content, its quite good actually
 
Good grief.

I've just had a look at the schedules.

BBC1 and BBC2 has nothing else all afternoon and evening.
