I am looking for some opinions..

I am replacing my subfloor in my lounge. We will be putting a wooden floor down as the final finish rather than carpet.

In one of the corners of the room there is a patch of damp.. not sure how long it's been there could be years but all the existing timbers are bone dry and strong.. so moisture isn't making its way to them (pic attached).

Just want to check if I put down chipboard will it be effected by this as all... if so what time of ply should I be using .

If you are concerned moisture and you want to use chipboard then go for a P5 rated chipboard flooring and ideally Egger or Caber brand (the two best IMHO). I've seen this stuff last a winter getting repeatedly soaked and still been all right

The floor is well ventilated..and yes was going to use a good brand. I was just curios if damp from the floor could in theory wick into the chipboard anyhow.

P5 is fairly resistant to damp. The process involves using a resin binder which is waterproof and which water can't wick into easily
