Had a new radiator installed by a heating engineer, what do you experts reckon to this? Phil

Looks like the fittings have been bouncing around in the back of a van for a start and it looks pig ugly.

I'm no plumber but I reckon even I could have done a better job. Unfortunately to put it right means draining the whole system down again which I can do without at the moment, I wouldn't mind if the pipe was straight. Phil

When was this fitted? Did you not query it before he left? His Stetson should have given a little bit away.

Hi, didn't notice before he left otherwise I would have pulled him on it, it was fitted about a month ago. Phil

With it only being a month, I’d say you could argue it’s not been fitted to a decent standard. Perhaps speak to citizens advice?

Absolute cack!

That's going to give you problems in future.

Get rid of the plastic ****e and do it again in copper.

To be honest Chris I don't want him back, this was only one of four radiators he replaced and a boiler he fitted, but although the other radiators are not too bad they all have the plastic push fittings on them, I will get them all changed to copper. Phil

and a boiler he fitted,

given the appalling work he did on the simplest of plumbing jobs I dread to think what he might have done when installing the boiler.

It would be sensible to have the boiler installation checked by a competent Gas Safe Registered engineer.

Was he on the Gas Safe Register, a legal requirement for anyone installing a boiler.

Hi, yes he was registered otherwise I wouldn't have considered him. Phil
