Air Admittance Valves: Do They Wear Out With Time?

I have one that gurgles markedly when there's a flush, as if there's a partial vacuum. Both mine are 26 years old...

In fairness, thats what they are designed to do, (clue is in the name), i.e. Admit Air when there is Negative Pressure in the downstream pipework, after an appliance is discharged.

Usual indications of an issue would be odours in the room or void where they are situated, which would indicate the Valve is stuck partially open and is allowing positive pressure out.
