Pyronix Deltabell illumination

Hi,

We are having a new alarm installed and wanted some advice on the colour options for the Pyronix Deltabell. We want the alarm to be visible at night, but does not need to shine out like a light

If we had a black base and a black cover, would that still illuminate please?

If not, would a black cover with say a Blue / Amber / Red base be ok please?

Or does it have to have a non-black cover?

Can’t see the point …. You either want to be visible or not ?

We would like the black base and cover, so wanted to check if this would still be visible please?
What I meant was, whilst it might not be as bright as say a white cover, one with a black base and cover would still be visible

I think it may or may not work, hence I was hoping for an experienced professional to guide us.
I have read the Pyronix Deltabell-X datasheet and it states:

“We do not recommend red, black, blue or chrome covers with any backlight options.”

As the term Pyronix have used is recommend, it could be interpreted in two ways:

It will not work, but then why wouldn’t their datasheet not just say “do not use” rather than “not recommend” !
It may work, just not be as bright.

This is what I was hoping for advice on please, whether it is not illuminated at all or whether it would still illuminate, just not as brightly?

It will work, but won’t be as effective.
We have a local company who use black on black it looks clean but I’d rather have a more effective strobe

That delta bell X …..is that what you are buying or delta plus ?
