Hello All,

I have 7 new windows to fit cills to. Having never fitted any before, I am wondering what sort of wood is normally used in the trade?

any info would be great.

thanks, Alex.

It depends on the look you want but I prefer Polyboard rather than timber, although it’s a bit more expensive. It’s laminated (a bit like kitchen worktops), comes pre-finished, including end caps, is easy to keep clean & doesn't need re-painting. It can be fixed in place using a good trade strength grab adhesive.

That's probably the wood to avoid, since the trade is usually more concerned about price than the health of the planet and the homes of orang utangs.
