Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Hi guys.

Please take a look at the picture attached. This is the rubber grommet plugging the hole where electric cable is to be fed to the shed.

The garage is 50cm away with its own CU, so im simply going to extend the ring to run to the shed and back out re-joining the garage.

My question...what would be the best way to supply the cable here?

My initial idea was to come out of the garage wall via an external junction box. Down into the ground and under with conduit or similar, coming up just below the grommet to another junction box on the shed. However as the shed is metal id have to drill holes and nut/bolt it to secure the junction box.

Question...is there a better way to do this?

I didn't want the sharp end if the screws sticking through on the inside. Whether its a nut and bolt or self tappers isnt really the issue, both are easily done.

I was just wondering if there was a better way to do the job than im currently thinking.
 
Piece of wood inside the shed just behind the cable inlet and screw through and into the wood? Then drill a hole for the cable through the wood or do it first but easier to drill through than trying to line up holes.

Sorry i may have mis-represented the issue, is there a better way to do it than using junction boxes and conduit?
 
Why are you extending RING? A radial circuit is normally all that is needed, unless you have a high load..
Because its not just one socket in the shed, it will be several. A radial will have to come from the far side of the garage, approx 5m away as the crow flies, and go around the perimeter of the garage to get to the shed. Extending the ring can come from a socket already in situ on the wall of the garage next to the shed, approx 1m away as the crow flies.
 
Metal shed, so will likely need to be TT, the use of a stuffing gland can easy get cable into shed, but with only 500 mm between the two you can hardly have shed TT and garage TN-C-S nor can you use one CU to supply both.

So question one is how is garage supplied, it may already be TT or TN-S but more likely TN-C-S so some where you likely need to protect against loss of PEN.

On tablet so can't post links to problems with loss of PEN but need to work out how to get a safe supply first.

So what is the earth arrangement in the house? If TN-C-S or PME then there is a problem.

If around 3 meters between house and garage then maybe garage can be made TT, other wise looking at some other method to protect from loss of PEN.

There are methods, but I would say this is not a DIY job.
