How many more U turns will this bloody government make?

I said that austerity was a word used by the left and BBC. I didn't say they were the first to use it or that they invented it, that would have been that bloke who invented the dictionary.

Ivor, you may be fooling yourself into thinking that you didn't start out flatly denying that the Tories used the term "austerity" to describe their ideology before they even got stuck in implementing it.

But if you think tax cuts and better services go hand in hand keep praising austerity
"austerity" was a word used by lefty marketing types, as it sounds so negative.
Erm it was a tory thing
It was a word used by the lefty establishment to criticise the tory government.
No it was a word used by the tories
Well they deserved to fail if that's true.

But you aren't fooling anybody else.

Remember - when Cameron gave that conference speech, in which he used it 11 times, the Tories were not in power.

The deform party seems to be attracting the flotsam and jetsam of UK politics into it's ranks...

No hopers and chancers, tax evaders and criminals...

Add that to the racist members...

They added one more yesterday...

I really don't understand what you think you're trying to prove or disprove.

I said the word "Austerity" was used as a weapon against the tories by the left and BBC etc, to moan about the limits they were putting on public spending, which I believe is why they gave in and basically became just as bad as the labour party by lobbing money around, just so they'd shut up about it. All absolutely true.

I didn't know that the tories were the first to use the word, if so that was a really stupid idea to use such a negative-sounding word to describe their own policies. They handed the weapon to their enemies.

But you seem to be wrapped up in some imaginary battle about proving some nonsense that you haven't. No contradiction, just discussion.

Some of us are capable of criticising both sides!
