ICE told to get the eff out

I had heard the term 'sanctuary city' a lot, but hadn't looked before into what it means. It's pretty interesting.

Basically, it means that the city authorities don't go out of their way to alert ICE to illegal immigrants, unless they are serious criminals. It's basically a live and let live approach to illegal immigrants who keep their heads down. It doesn't, however, mean actively protecting them. All the research shows that the sanctuary city approach leads to less crime, a stronger economy and better community relations.

And Somalian Learing Centres.

Unlikely. A bit like saying you will be put to death, if you murder another in this State.

I have now read claims that it is about getting people to self deport. Total nonsense, obviously. It's pure propaganda for MAGAs.

Organised criminals make sure their organised criminality stays off the radar.

Minnesota does seem to have a problem with Somali gangs, drugs and people trafficking.

Of course turning a blind eye to illegals makes you a target and that’s without explaining how someone with no right to work, can live without committing crime.

Seems a bit of a stretch to argue ignoring crime has benefits.

That's not what I wrote. I said those who keep their heads down are allowed to live in peace. By keep their heads down I meant being good residents and obeying the law.

How do they do that without being able to work legally?

It is linked to the previous discussions which showed that illegal immigrants commit between a third and half fewer crimes that US citizens. The reason is simple. They don't want to rock the boat. So they keep their heads down, work hard, and obey the law, in the hope that one day they will become US citizens. It has benefited both sides massively for decades.

Stop trolling. You know what I mean. Everyone knows what I mean.
Nobody is trolling, you are posting ridiculous claims:

- Every illegal immigrant has committed a crime - an immigration offence.
- They have no right to work and cannot pay taxes - someone is exploiting someone
- Then you have all the consequential crimes: working without insurance, driving without a licence etc etc. more likely to hit and run.
- Illegal immigrants are harder to trace, because they "don't exist".

The fact they keep their crime off the radar does not meant they commit less crime.
