I had heard the term 'sanctuary city' a lot but hadn't looked before into what it means. It's pretty interesting.
Basically, it means that the city authorities don't go out of their way to alert ICE to illegal immigrants, unless they are serious criminals. It's basically a live and let live approach to illegal immigrants who stick to the law. All the research shows that this approach leads to less crime and a stronger economy.
