There are many TRV heads, some which are truly smart, working out how long it takes to heat a room, so it can start heating the room at the right time to be to temperature when ready to be occupied, and some which only control the temperature to within 3°C of some random set point, where one has to work out what *123456 means in degrees C for the room they are fitted in.

So if we list common features then we can I hope make a list so people can select features they want. A) exercise the valve pin. B) show current temperature. B1) on the device C) show target temperature C1) on the device. D) Able to set temperature on the device. D1) On the app only. E) Window open detection. F) shows under or over travel of TRV pin G) gives a graph of how heating has preformed. H) comes with adaptor kit, or free on application. I) Needs a hub. J) connects to WiFi either direct or with hub. K) Has BlueTooth. L) can be paired with other TRV head. M) can fire the boiler. N) can connect to wall thermostat/sensor.

Energenie = A,B,C1,D1,I,J.
eQ-3 = A,D,D1,F,G,H,K,L.
Kasa = A,B,B1,C,D,E,G,H,I,J,M,N.
Wiser = A,B,B1,C1,F,G,H,I,J,M,N.
Can readers correct any errors, and also add other makes, or include other features, so in the future people can see which head suits them best, or any other comments.

I did try the internet I found pictures like this 1769779278205.png we know heat circulates, circulation.jpg so fitting any TRV at the top of a radiator is clearly wrong, want to measure the return air. So the "Which" report clearly useless when tested on the top.

Reports which say

seem also pointless, I have 4 makes, and no way is one make going to save 50% against another. So starting at the cheap

less than £15 each, no connection to any phone or internet, one has just added the ability to program when as well as to what temperature, and in degrees C not some silly *123456 on the dial, mine are the bluetooth version, so not sure if the open window detect is also on this model?

I am considering moving them to the little use flat, and getting versions with internet connectivity. There are other cheap versions

They seem very tempting.

So spec wise seem very good, but the makes I already have vary in battery life, but we have seen so many using Moes wall thermostats, and we do not see loads of bad reports.
