Keen DIYer looking for advice.
Bathroom renovation planned and existing floorboards are in poor condition so planning the following:
Remove existing floorboards.
Level up joist by sistering with 6x2 timbers and coach bolting to existing joists. (Approx 50mm level change across floor.)
(1st Fix Plumbing & Insulation for sound-proofing - 200mm Glasswool.)
P5 T+G Chipboard 22mm. (Joist are 400mm but opting for less flex in a 22mm board.) Fully glued (PU) along joints and on top of joists. No extra noggins. Fully screwed with twin thread screws.
Seal full area with SBR.
Apply peel and stick Schluter Ditra Mat Heat decoupling mat.
Seal the joints/perimeter with a Kerdi/BAL waterproofing system.
Install heating cables.
Flexible adhesive.
Large format tiles.
Flexible grout.
Does that all sound workable or would you suggest any changes? Have opted not to use Cement/Insulation Hardiebacker board as the house is old timber frame and likely to suffer minor seasonal movements so the decoupling mat would work better (so I think?).
Thank you.
