Hi. I have attempted to fit x 6 internal doors which has been, by and large, successful however, one of the doors needs an extra little push for the last couple of cm's to seat the latch and when its opened it will spring open by the same amount. At first I thought i may not have trimmed the hinge side of the door at a perfect right angle so took it off and trimmed it again, but it's made no difference. All the hinges appear to be flush with the door liner, and the door isn't being fouled by the door stop. Any suggestions? It isn't critical but is annoying me!

Check the hinge 'flags', are not clashing, before the door is fully closed. If they are, the flags need to be set a little deeper, into the timber.

Thanks everyone but I'm 100% sure it's not the door stops as it binds before it's get close to the stop. I'm going to try and pack out the hinges slightly as if run a credit card along the internal edge of the door and it won't slide in as far near the top of the door.

In which case it sounds like it is binding on the door liner.

Packing out the hinges should help, but you might need to adjust both.

When working with door liner hinge rebates which have been butchered in the past, I occasionally wrap the hinge in polythene and backfill the rebate with 2 pack filler and set the hinge to the correct depth. The poly stops the filler to sticking to the hinge. Once the filler has cured, remove the hinge and rehang the door.
