I think we have had it

I'm not going to waste my time trying to prove some random wrong on a forum. Especially randoms that just want to enter into endless boring ping pong.
Exactly, you debate for days you get the better of them after 6 shift changes then the thread gets shut down.....

I think that was definitely the right decision mind it was getting ridiculous.

Windrush was an effort by the Government to bring extra labour into the country post-war.

Younger people are not becoming more right wing.

Not quite sure what Noddy beliefs are. Can you explain?

Wrong.

Windrush and immigrants from elsewhere came here for two main reasons. Firstly, of their own accord, because there was no system in place to stop them. There was no definition of a British citizen until this was corrected in the 1960s. Secondly, because the governments of their own countries, like in the Carribean, requested our help to deal with unemployed and increasingly troublesome young men.

We did not need labour. As soon as large numbers of troops started returning from Europe, by the late 1940s, there were areas of the country that had an unemployment problem. Adding useless, low skill immigrants into the equation didn't help anybody and understandably caused resentment. As is the case now, wasted scarce resources and drove down wages.

You don't have to believe everything the TV tells you...

As a newcomer, I can tell that the left wing loony posters on here boil down to approximately two mentally ill and unemployable dribblers. It will be excellent when their benefits are cut off in future. No more food, no more internet for them.

And yet here you are at the same time...

You may as well go in t'bin with that attitude.

They don't like newcomers on here, when I first come along they hated me, but now they love me.....stick with it mate ;)

I preferred it when it was better - in the 1970s and 80s. It is unwatchable now.

Of course, the UK was 99% white British in the 70s and 80s, which was a good thing. It would be racist to suggest otherwise.

England should be for English people and culture, first and foremost, as is the case for most countries and their peoples in the world today. This is history and it is the future, once we correct the lunatic experiment we have been unjustly subjected to against our wishes.

Spiteful mutants such as yourself will have to be re-educated to de-wokefy your brainwashed minds. You will probably be tracked down and consigned to a lunatic asylum with all the evidence you have left on this and other forums.

It depends what you mean by 'better'. We now have many of the best foreign players in the world, so objectively the quality of the football must be better. But since all this money came into the game, I don't feel the same connection.

That is wrong. There were massive recruitment campaigns because we simply could not get indigenous Brits to do mill work etc. any more.

Yes, it's a myth that they came to help Britain. They came to get work and a better life here. There's nothing at all wrong with that, we're familiar with Adam Smith's work, but they didn't come out of altruism.
Is that why they fought alongside UK during WW2, as well, to better themselves?

We had many of the best players in the world then and they were mostly home grown. That was preferable.

They should take football back to basics. Obviously that'll never happen.

Make it mandatory that anyone playing for team x must have been born and lived at least part of their life within say a 150 mile radius of the stadium of the team for which they'll play, ideally the same locality.

Cap salaries to £1.5 million per year. The boys that have a desire to become a footballer won't lose that desire just because the pay is no longer at ridiculous levels. (yes I know about the commercial world and why this will never happen ;))

VAR deems a fall to be fake? Fine the player a sixth of their weekly salary. Might encourage them to stay upright a bit more.

Of course none of this will ever happen.
