Trumps daughter is Jewish by conversion as is Starmers mother in law, they are both of European origin as far as I know.

It's a series of agreements made by various governments to limit their behaviour. It's also generally only enforced when the country enforcing it is more powerful than the entity (and any backers) being sanctioned.

It is toothless and has little case law in places, but it is well documented.

It's what UN recognises, but unfortunately it's down to the stronger nations to enforce it.
When the stronger nations themselves defy it, the global world order breaks down.
