Obviously the wise left wingers on here saw it coming, I was talking about the wider world.
Plenty on the right foresaw it, but must importantly it was a scenario that American defence experts foresaw.

What’s surprising is that the Arab countries aren’t forming an alliance against Trumpf’s war, although their reaction to the gas fields bombing suggests even Dumpf thinks things have gone to far.

If anything I think it will be the other way around. Countries like Saudi will be delighted to see the back of Iran, not sure which others, as I said none of them were expecting to be attacked in the way they have and as we know, there's nothing more dangerous than an angry Arab.

Religious factionalism will eventually be overcome the way the war is going

...the Zionist War has shown a quantifiable emphasis on attacks on Iran’s ballistic missile, naval and drone capacity; its related mobile and communications systems; as well as attacks on IRGC installations, according to Clionadh Raleigh, the founder of the he Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED), which has been tracking the war.

But about 30 percent of attacks focused on what she described as “hyperlocal military and security infrastructure” traditionally used to assert control over the population, Raleigh explained. Iran’s nuclear facilities, meanwhile, have been some of the “least hit” targets.

Trump’s objective of destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities would also be impossible without some form of ground operation.
