Heatmiser underfloor heating system coming on when it shouldn't

My mothers house two wireless thermostats,

and IMGP8037.jpg the first one if it looses RF will auto shut down, the second one would keep the heating running and had no system to check if the RF signal had worked, and many times I found the heating on when it should not have been.

I don't know the cure, it is simply poor design.

Batteries are good as I changed them recently, I never let them run out. I know they default to on when the battery has run out (which is super annoying). I didn't realise they default to on when they lose signal. Is there a way to change the default to be off?

Wish I had gone with the wired stats if that is the case. Wonder if it can be changed in retrospect?
Professional UFH engineer here. To change the default to be off, you need to set the P3 feature (Failsafe) to "00 = Disabled".
