Trellis width too narrow for U clips

Hi

I’m fitting a standard 6 ft trellis to arris rail (on existing 5m feather edge fence) I’ve bought U clips but they’re too wide for the trellis. (Clips 5cm and trellis is 3cm)

I can’t see any of the metal ones in 5cm. Guess I have to use some wood for a snug fit?

If you've got a vice you could reshape them. Or even manipulate them with some chunky pliers.
You can get smaller ones in 38mm, or use a Wickes 'Z' panel clip.

I used cable cleats, mainly as in stock, but the plastic cleats seem to work fine.
