Mayors to have power to overturn local planning decisions

The London Mayors has these powers which would be extended to other elected Mayors. It would apply to larger schemes such as over 150 dwellings and could override a grant of permission as well as allow one the Council want to refuse. Pretty sure the government has powers to “call in” large schemes anyway, so this is an example of devolved government.
