Hi just a quick one for all the electricians on here. What height do you fit your cu's /db's in brand new dwellings.

I dont think there is a set limit for the height of a CU, a little common sense is applied, it needs to be located somewhere its easily accessable so, I'd say max height of 1.7m.
 
I have been in formed that the mcb centre line should be no more than 1200mm off f/f/l to met the building regs reguarding disabled accsess.

that's top of the switches.. ( breakers.. ), so a little below the 1200mm f.f.l. to the center..

under the stairs is also a no-no these days since they can't get the wheelchair in.. :evil:

what are the odds of a disabled person living in a 1st floor or upwards flat without lift access, that is limited that much in their range of motion they cannot reach what used to be regarded as a "regular" light switch?
