reversing MCB's

Just a quick question, is it OK to reverse an MCB in a DB, as I am having trouble gwtting hold of the specific type that fit, but have another brand which do, but it means having it reversed?

Would the operation of the MCB be affected by the reversal of the current flow direction?

In theory no....

In practise yes as the operation of some is affected if they are moumted physically upside down as gravity affects the operating time.

these are all mounted sideways!

Not diagonally Is this an industrial / commercial install where certification may be more critical.?

Most 2 terminal MCBs will work electrically when "reversed" provided they are simple ones.

Some industrial MCBs won't work reversed for a variety of reasons.

Check the manufacturer's spec
