Thanks very much for the info. I replaced the switch with one from Maplin and all seems to be OK again. Cost of switch: £1.99, which is far better than buying a whole new actuator! Andrew

Dear m4tt, did you ever solve your danfoss hsa3 actuator problem? I have exactly the same problem and I'm wondering whether it's worth messing about trying to fix the actuator or whether I should just buy a new one. The symptoms are EXACTLY the same you describe, even down to the thing getting very hot all by itself!! Many thanks
