Recommendation for a set of chisels for wodwork

I have neither so I'd like to get one that I can do things mortice joints etc. You mention that you use Thor Nylon Faced hammer for delicate work. Which of these look good for more heavy-duty work like mortice joints?

Something like this? Would you use this mallet for light work or more heavy-duty work? What do you think of this alternative?

    What joint for a tripod?

It comes with a carabiner clip. Will a threaded hook do as an attachment?

    What joint for a tripod?

I'd like to make a tripod from 2x2 timbre. It's about a metre tall and 60 cm wide at the base. I'd like to hang a grow light (it weighs about 1 kg) from this tripod so the joint needs to be strong. What joint would you suggest?

What adhesive should I use to glue a floorboard to a steel beam

I definitely need a flexible adhesive for a couple of floorboards that's going under two doors. It like to glue the board (the adjescent boards will be nailed to joist) to stop it from moving or clunking as you said. By normal silicone do you mean a silicone bathroom sealant or similar?

What adhesive should I use to glue a floorboard to a steel beam

I have a few floorboards that I need to lay over a steel beam. What adhesive should I use for that. If you can recommend an adhesive that's sold widely, e.g., in Screwfix or Toolstation, then that would be preferable. Thanks

Recommendation for a set of chisels for wodwork

Axminster sell the self-adhesive sandpaper in 600, 1250, and 2500 grit only. Is the 600 course enough and is the 2500 fine enough or did you get other ones elsewhere?

The Vaunt diamond stones sell currently for £36. Is that the normal price? How much has it been sold for when reduced?

Recommendation for a set of chisels for wodwork

As you may have gathered by now, I am not one for doing things simply ;). You're right. I do have a few chisels and I plan to practice my sharpening skills on those and get additional ones as and when I need them. I like the look of the Veritas Mark II jig so I think I am going to get it. It...

Is this the hone you mean? https://www.axminstertools.com/veritas-mk-ii-honing-system-200810. Granted, it is more expensive but it looks good quality and is easy to use and set.

Recommendation for a set of chisels for wodwork

Firstly, big thanks for that mine of information! I'll get 3 or 4 of the Ashley Iles bench chisels as you suggested. I think getting diamond homes with a thicker backing sounds sensible. I presume these aren't the Vaunt ones. Would you be able to say which ones you'd recommend and where I can...

Recommendation for a set of chisels for wodwork

I've taken up woodworking and have been trying my hand at making simple furniture to hone my skills. So I'll be using the chisels to make mortice joins, and for pairing timber. I don't mind spending good money on good hand tools. Are all 400/600/1000 stones more or less the same or are there...
