    Is the door liner the problem? Just fit one the correct width. You can get 6mm plasterboard if that helps

    Probably. Not a great picture but I've seen some strange looking mould over the years. You can get white salts coming out walls from damp but also mould. I'd be hitting that with bleach but don't splash carpet or anything. Then investigate what's going on.

    Just buy a tile from DIY store for £1 and drill a few holes as a practice. Get some confidence. It's not ever a problem.. I've drilled loads no problem. Use masonry drill. Don't use the hammer action until you hit brick. Go on a slow ish speed so it don't burn drill bit. Not too much force...

    Lime plaster don't like anything sealing in but it's said Gardz is ok. With the original F&B paint is it ok to add water and if so how much. Adding water to it could of effected the binding of emulsion.

    There is a cheap way to help with noise but it's could be not worth the effort as not 100% sound blocking. I've always wanted to try. What you do is stick sound block plasterboard with foam. 2 or 3mm gap all the way around and fill with acoustic mastic. Now how well that works I don't know

    Vent on front or side is fine. Just need air blowing through.. I used Thermal blocks and bags of pre mixed sand and cement. Cut blocks with old saw. Bung in and board or skim over. You could use insulation and board if you want
