Hi

I live in a end terrace house which has a single storey out house with a shared wall with a neighbour along its length.

The external walls are single skin brick and with a cement asbestos sheet roof.
The asbestos cement roof also joins to a neighbours roof at it apex along the length of the building.

The floor is solid concrete, but Im not sure there is any damp proof as the lino that is over it has discoloured in places.

I would like to convert this to a shower & toilet room and white goods store room, but its cold and leaky.

The attached image gives you an idea of size scale, the section in question is the larger lower section which measure 2.4M x 1.8M.

There are two small protruding wallstubs which are supporting a lintel, there is 2.02M from floor to lintel.

My initial thought was washing machine and tumble dryer stacked bottom left on the image, wall between the “stubs” supporting the lintel. The remaining 1.6M x 1.8M to be used as shower & toilet room.

Really appreciate any input on this project!

Yeah. Go for it.
You getting rid of asbestos roof for something better with insulation as you don't want it to freeze.
You need to insulate walls as well.
Don't get hit with with silly money to dump asbestos. Some councils will take asbestos or you shop around for a company to do it. Probably only take a few hours.
