Shows how untrustworthy the BBC are

Unconnected points. Whether Trump denied the election result or not, the BBC should not have edited his speech to make it appear he said something he didn't say. Two wrongs don't make a right, and its the BBC's job to report the facts, not present their interpretation of the facts.

Shows how untrustworthy the BBC are

I don't think it is. GB news bulletins are factual, it's the discussion points and shows that the GB news haters don't like because they take a more right wing approach than the BBC and then presenters have a right wing bias. That being said, GB news actively invites both right AND left wing...

    Asbestos or not?

The yellow filler you refer to is insulation. Its either rockwool or glass wool, not asbestos. Get it tested if you're worried, but its highly unlikely to be asbestos with a house of that age. The nasty asbestos was banned in 1985 with ban extended to white asbestos which is no where near as...

My rear upstairs wall is f***d where the hell is the water coming from??

Can you take a better picture of the outside wall. It looks like there is some staining from water running off the roof and down the wall on the centre line, but difficult to see. It looks like it aligns with the right hand side of the gap in the facia under the ridge. I suspect you've got...

Energy v cost, do people really not know the difference?

We've not long had a smart meter fitted, which tells me that our house consumes an average of 100w when we're out and all the lights are off. That'll be the router, wifi repeaters, smart devices, Ring Camera's etc. I've excluded the blips where the fridge or freezer kicks in. I was...

Help - Long diagonal ceiling crack suddenly appeared

Depending on the size of the room, 1 day to bring the ceiling down and clean up, another to board and first coat skim, 3rd day to 2nd coat skim. 1 day less if you overboard rather than bringing the ceiling down. Then redecorate. I caveat the above with the fact that I’m an enthusiastic...

Help - Long diagonal ceiling crack suddenly appeared

If there's nothing heavy in the room above, it'll be the plaster or plasterboard detaching itself from the joists of the floor above. If its lath and plaster, it may have just reached the end of its life and the plaster nibs have failed. It'll either need to come down and be replaced with...

Help - Long diagonal ceiling crack suddenly appeared

The ceiling is clearly moving, hence the decoration marks. Its probably been filled and painted over, but the cause of the movement hasn't been addressed so it's just cracked again. Any heavy furniture or weights in the room above?

Help - Long diagonal ceiling crack suddenly appeared

That looks to me like the ceiling is failing. As Wayners said, get it looked at Asap. If its an original ceiling, then i'd say its failing. If its plasterboard, it may be that it was nailed or screwed insufficiently and can be reattached and reskimed. Is your lounge a ground floor room? Is the...

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

There is a reason why its not common over here any more. Personally, i'd just do the beech. It'll look better, last longer, and being slightly softer is less likely to chip your crockery or get chipped when you drop something on it. Wood that has been well oiled with plenty of coats of Osmo oil...

Anyone tiled a kitchen surface and not regretted it?

It’ll be difficult to keep hygienically clean. Too many crevices in the tile gaps and grout.

How to patch this hole where the wall meets the subfloor?

If there is masonry behind the holes, just use bonding. I thought you were saying there is nothing behind the holes.

How to patch this hole where the wall meets the subfloor?

Trim the plasterboard up the wall 6 inches and put horizontal strips in that go down to the floor.

Toilet leak but have sealed the pipe still leaking

If the float valve is dripping, which I’m pretty it will be, after flushing the water will quickly rise to the normal height, but then continue to slowly rise because of the leaky valve. If the water never got to the overflow height, there couldn’t be a leak from it.

Toilet leak but have sealed the pipe still leaking

The water level is too high and its leaking from the overflow connection. Probably means the float valve is leaking, but you could adjust the float height on the arm to see if you can lower the water level. You need to push the float down the arm so that the arm is raised up higher by the water...

It just gets more stereotypical by the minute as the facts emerge. The Syrian born terrorist immigrant, named Jihad, was on bail for alleged rape.
