Thanks - what difference would the washer/dryer bit make? Extra complication when it's in bits? I would like to find someone who can actually confirm it's the main PCB before I spend £130 on one though.

Seems the main board may have gone - no fault codes, now stops a few seconds after it starts. Nobody is keen to replace it though (or take it apart to confirm) - don't people repair washing machines nowadays?

According to the engineers no fault codes are showing at all - is there anything else I can check?

A bit of digging suggests this is probably a duff capacitor in the receiver. Will try replacing that first.

Just been through your process again - boiler has miraculously come to life. What I did notice is that the red LED did not illuminate until I released the two buttons - I'll see if it still works via the timer in the morning. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response. Just tried that - the Receive LED flashed, but the boiler isn't turning on (no noises, no green burner light). The red LED on the receiver is flashing intermittently now.
