Dark patches have appeared on internal wall

We've noticed a few small dark patches appear this week on one wall & would like any input on what it is. Put 2 pics up, but not very good quality. 2 things, we have had a shed load of rain lately, & there is no guttering above the outside wall. Can't see any cracks in outside wall either...

Ingress of water into boiler via flue

I have an Ideal boiler with horizontal flue. A couple of times in heavy rain & strong winds, water has come back into the boiler. Had a gas safe bloke in & basically he said not a lot can be done. I know i'm not allowed to do anything to it, but surely there must be something to stop it. Maybe...

    Painting internal concrete door lip

Many thanks Diynutjob. It shouldn't get stepped on, but the law of averages it will. When you say normal paint, what do you actually mean & what kind of primer too?

    Painting internal concrete door lip

The wife wants this painted. Ideally I would like to get rid of it, but i assume it's wouldn't be easy if possible ? Best way of painting it, complete rub down first? Would it need primer 1st or can you just paint it? Many thanks for reading this

Replacing non hinged window with hinged window?

Apologies for not getting back sooner. I take it the only way to find out which one it is, is to get the window open & have a look or is there another way of finding out which one?

Replacing non hinged window with hinged window?

How difficult a job would it be to replace it for diyer? Also would it make much difference to condensation in this area, being able to have a window that you can open? Cheers

    Painting wooden door threshold

Afternoon peeps, wife wants door thresholds(3) painted gloss white. Looks like they have been previously stained. Is this a good idea in a heavy traffic area? What's the best type of paint to use if i do it & what preparation is needed. Sand stain off completely or will an undercoat seal it...

    Electric heater siting

Morning guys. I've been looking for a electric radiator for an alcove in downstairs toilet. The width of the gap is 430 mm. I've seen a couple that in theory would fit the gap, but on reading further they need quite a lot of clearance each side. Before i give up on the idea is this the norm...
