    Adaptor for old bathtub tap.

Thanks. I will contact a plumber then. I might have to flip the orientation of the bathtub anyway.

    Adaptor for old bathtub tap.

Hi, I’m not an expert. I would like to add a shower hose to this tap. As you can see, it has a strange shape. Is there any kind of adaptor? It looks like it could be unscrewed, but I wasn’t able to. Do I just need to use more force? Thanks. Ruggiero

    Advice on repairing damaged wall

It's quite solid actually. I don't think it is lath and plaster. It's a bit flaky where you see the holes. Especially close to the boards.

    Advice on repairing damaged wall

Hi, Premise: I am not a professional. This is a wall in my storage room. The paint and some plaster have come away, and the surface is in poor condition. Is there anything practical I can do to make this wall look better without a full re-plaster? Thanks Ruggiero

    How to renovate this door

Hi, I'm looking for advice on improving the finish on an internal wooden door. The surface is quite rough in places and has some small raised spots or bubbles. The finish doesn't look very flat or even, especially around the mouldings and panel details. It looks like it has quite a thick layer...

    Could this be a stopcock

I assume you mean the little tip (is that the spindle?). I tried with pliers and it feels quite hard to turn (clockwise). It is bit hard to reach Honestly, I am afraid to break it and flood the house.

    Could this be a stopcock

Hi, We just moved in our new flat and we need to add a little hose. We are not able to find the stopcock. According to the neighbours there is a stopcock outside the building, but one of the neighbours told us that he has a stopcock in his bathroom (not sure about location yet). The only thing...

    Stuck washing machine filter

Job done. Managed to pull it out. It was quite jammed. I found 4 coins, 3 screws, 1 small plastic tube and lots of other crap. The new filter fits perfectly. Thanks for the advice.

    Fix sunken floorboards

Hi, We found this nice surprise under the carpet in our new flat. The floor is a bit sunken around the filler (is that screed?). How should this be fixed properly? I am not going to do it myself, but I would like to understand. Thanks!

I tried to attach a photo, but I get an error. It says that it is too big, but it is only 500kb. Maybe it is because I am new user? This is a dropbox link to the photo

    Stuck washing machine filter

Could I use something like this There is a hole in the centre so I was thinking to use these 'reverse' pliers to grip from inside and unscrew it.

    Stuck washing machine filter

Unfortunately there is no space to lay the machine on its side. It's a very small laundry room. I think I will need to buy a new part for sure. I was wondering how to pull it out though. Without the cap there is nothing I can grip to unscrew it.
