Thanks for the reply. I was hoping not to have to take off the insulation! I was hoping there would be some clips that would fit under the flush plasterboard and then over the 'sticking out' plasterboard in order to get them lined up. Will take a look later on.

There is no cavity, its solid brick. Yes it looks like a steel lintel (was already there). I'll try and get a roofer to take a look...

Hope the pics make sense. The row of soldiers is at the top with lead floor behind it. There is no leak in the ceiling underneath the lead. Looks like some black coating is flaking away from the brickwork on the inside.
