    Dishwasher tripping power switch

Thanks. It’s the discrete circuit breaker for the sockets in the kitchen- a new circuit was installed when we had kitchen done in 2016. The dishwasher was on when the above mcb tripped. Even though area cleaned and dried a bit, there is still an issue with the DW-doesn’t switch on. If...

    Dishwasher tripping power switch

Hi All Belated happy new year. We have an issue with our AEGF343000V10. Yesterday, we noticed that dishwasher had stopped mid cycle, resulting in circuit switch for kitchen sockets being tripped. At that stage, there was still about a cm of water in the dishwasher. Just pulled washing machine...

Removing hardened silicone excess from upvc window frame?

Hi As title suggests, this isn’t about removal of usual old sealant. We have a fair bit of really hard silicone which has stuck hard to the upvc window frame. It’s probably been there since we had a new kitchen about ten years ago. I’ve tried Soudal and cutting knife but that’s making v...

    Ceiling repair after leak

Hi We had a bathroom leak, which has now been sorted. (Over six months ago so dried out now) Unfortunately the leak caused some damage to kitchen ceiling below. Pictures attached. 3/4 pictures are of same area. There doesn’t seem to be visible bowing, but quite a few deep cracks to...

    Halford’s wiper blade query…

Hi Hoping someone can save me an embarrassing return trip to Halfords. Bought single rear wiper for wife’s 2015 Polo. Used her reg to order part W301. Told er indoors wouldn’t need to pay for fitting, easy blah blah. Removed old blade easily. However, replacement has three parts as shown...

    Screw extraction

Sorry-realise my previous response needs explaining. Replacing bolt and bolt keep. Ergo, need to remove latter. Thanks a bunch.

    Screw extraction

No need to keep bolt keep. Update-can’t “prise” screws or bolt keep off (or move screw heads away from bolt) with flat blades screwdriver. Also unable to get vice grips around screw heads. Will have to invoke left handed drill option. Watch this space. Thanks

    Screw extraction

    Screw extraction

Thought you were being rude then Do you mean screw, whole thing?

    Screw extraction

Thanks for further responses. I’m out at the moment, but pretty certain the heads are too flush to use mole grips. (Will try) The other issue is the screws are fitted very close to the frame. Think it will probably have to be reverse drill bit malarkey.

    Screw extraction

Hi See section of internal door bolt. The heads have been destroyed over the years. I’m replacing doir fittings so want to remove this. At the moment there’s not enough exposed to twist with pliers. I think I need to drill into screw (anti clockwise) and then remove with one of those screw...
