    with the old heater, it connects into the circuit board of the heater, along with Brown and Blue . This heater was a Chronopass type which has a pilot etc. with mynew heater, it does not require the extra cable, so i can only assume its a pilot of some sort?

    you can see the Earth Live and Neutral fromthe fused switch into the backbox. there is also the think cabling coming into the backbox into a terminal with the black wire. Am i correct in assuming this is some sort of Pilot?

    that idea saves a lot of work! i was just going to leave the fused switch where it is,ie live, but remove anything coming from it. it would still be marked on the MCB, just without any connection after the fused switch. not sure if this is Ok though
