    Velux - condensation...?

Update: Wet again this morning! I'm wondering if it's condensation. The wood and the plasterwork around the window are so cold to touch on a morning on some parts I can't work out if they are cold or damp. Also, I don't think it rained last night so I reckon it might be condensation..... bugger

    Velux - condensation...?

Hi, So here are the photos from this morning, plus what I have found. The circles indicate where the woodwork was wet. The ticks where it was dry. I was unable to work out whether it was condensation on the wood or water was leaking in? There was considerable condensation on the window this...

    Zinseer Bin balls up!

Thanks Mate. Do I need two coats of primer, then undercoat and gloss?

    Zinseer Bin balls up!

Yes to the outside. I was trying to not have to sand down the varnish and cut corners. I'd read how the Zinsser can prime anything. Didn't (annoyingly) pick on the 'spot external'. So the external front door and frame have been painted in it. It went on great and dried quick but I now gather...

    Zinseer Bin balls up!

Hello, I'm an idiot. Didn't read the tin properly. I've coated my varnished front door and frame in Zinseer Bin trying to save having to rub down. Realised before I did the window frames. Have I got any options or is it just sand down and start again? Shoot me now thanks

    Patio Sealer disaster?!?

You know, I've had a look on my hands and knees and the marks look like patches where the sealer hasn't adhered. Possibly because the slab had moisture in? Interestingly, the two areas where this has happened are in the more shaded areas. The main area, that gets more sun, does not have this...

    Patio Sealer disaster?!?

Hello, I'd appreciate some advice. I recently sealed my patio with Thompson's one coat patio sealer. Jet washed it clean. Left it to dry in the sun for 4 hours (this might be my error) and then sealed. It looked great - see before and after. before by samtastic73 posted 17 Apr 2020 at 2:39...

Visonic Powermax room sensors not working

Secureiam I've just seen replacement lenses on E-bay that are not the pet version. Can I just replace them with them? https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/21007544904 And yes - the alarm is 9 years old now. Thinking about upgrading and adding a couple of external cameras. You have any preferred...

Visonic Powermax room sensors not working

Update. So I set the alarm. Sat outside for 5 mins and then walked in through the conservatory door. That sensor picked me up two steps in and the alarm set off. I then re-set and hid around the corner in the kitchen for 5 mins just out of sight of the sensor. I walked around the corner and...

Visonic Powermax room sensors not working

Thanks for your reply. I will test again today, however I did walk tests yesterday, hours apart, and also on another occasion entered the house when the alarm was armed and the sensors didn't pick me up. The lounge one, after I took the fascia off, worked on one walk test how I remember them...

Visonic Powermax room sensors not working

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. The room sensors on my alarm appear to not be working. I replaced the battery on the outdoor siren today and decided to do a walk test (haven't done one in ages). The sensors registered, with the beep on the alarm but very intermittently. E.g I had to move...

    mould in attic

No tanks up there. Roofer booked. Will the mould just disappear or will I need to get up there with a ladder and clean it off? Tricky as only part boarded and central area is quite high.

    mould in attic

There is an extractor fan for the cooker. The tumble drier is in the pantry with the door open. There is a double brick air vent that blows a force 10 through. So figured we'd be ok? Just looking for an extractor for the bathroom. They are pretty standard aren't they? Don't think the beam is...
