Advice needed to power flush a home

Yes, there is one on the central heating return pipe going into the boiler as per the pic (2nd pipe to the left with the gold thing) and has some anti scale thing on the cold inlet (second to the right). Also what is an approx cost to power flush and how long does it take?

Advice needed to power flush a home

My 4 year old Viessman boiler has just gone faulty due to the heat exchanger being clogged by sludge and the engineer saying its full of dirt. Last week I had some builders doing up my bathroom and took off the radiator and emptied and refilled the system (and I had to remove all the trapped...

Advice needed to power flush a home

Could I please get some advice on how best to approach the idea of finding the right company in NW London to powerflush a 4/5 bed semi home that has never been power flushed before and has radiators. What are the things to watch out for and what is the correct way of doing it as I understand...

    Problem with Viessmann Vitoden 111-W

Got the above 4-year old combi boiler which has a built in 40 litre storage tank. Had a radiator removed and a new towel radiator fitted by a handyman. Boiler went on the blink after he partially drained the system to also change some pipe work in a bathroom and capped off each side of the...

    IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

I am probably also getting confused by the fact that I thought these lights might need a can - which I know is for fire protection. As these are going on a first floor bathroom, do they not then need to be fire rated too if I go for some IP44 ones rather than the IP65 ones I bought above? I'm...

    IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

Any suggestions for those tiny purple niche lights that go into the top of an alcove in the shower area? Also forgot to ask, are those Ip65 Gu10 holders with glass generally so small in the surface area of the light. I checked the ones I have in my kitchen and the light can only get out of a...

    IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

It’s a regular thermostatic shower linked to a gas boiler. What is IPX4 compared to an IP65? So I was thinking of putting the spotlight immediately above the overhead shower.

    IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

Ceiling is 2.4m and yes 240v fitting. I’d probably say no, water cannot spray onto the fitting though it will have one of those overhead shower heads as well as a hand shower on a wall rail. Thx.

    IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

Am I correct in understanding that you can install a IP65 rated GU10 ceiling spot light above a shower?

Renewing mains pipe with blue pipe

That's a good point. I called them after you msg. Speaking to developer services they said that I'm not allowed to connect my new pipe into the chamber box stopcock and that if I wanted 32mm pipe or more it will cost £150 odd for an application fee and the cost of changing it will be between...

    Valspar paint peeling off

I'm having a torrid time with Valspar paint bought from B&Q. This is both their trade version and V900 paint. It's supposed to be scrubble paint but having put one coat on our plasterboard walls (they were skimmed a few years ago and had one watered down white emulsion paint put down before...

Renewing mains pipe with blue pipe

Is it a good idea to fit my own chamber with lid on top where I plan to start digging on my side of the boundary where I would connect my 32mm pipe to "whatever currently exists" so I have access to it in future in the event of a leak or anything. maybe use a manhole cover, as ugly as it looks?

Renewing mains pipe with blue pipe

So the bit I dont get, is I dont know what old size lead pipe is connected in the side meter chamber to them come under my boundary and then all the way into my home. I bought the house a few years ago and whilst we have good pressure, we want to renew the mains. It would be pointless...

Renewing mains pipe with blue pipe

Thx for your reply. This is my meter contained in a boundary box. The pipe run would be approximately 12 to 15m. How on earth would anyone even with a moling machine connect to the other side of this without disturbing the pavement.
