    What scraper do I need?

Hi All, I'm trying to remove paint from wall tiles and currently using a heat gun and a stanley type blade scraper which although does the job is very slow. Is there a better scraper I should be using in conjunction with the heat gun? I then plan on using Panther paint remover on the intricate...

What do I stand on, step ladder won't fit?

Hi All, I need to paint our upstairs toilet room which is tiny. My stepladder won't fit as the toilet is in the way when the steps are open (A frame stepladder). I'd rather not stand on the toilet seat as I'm not exactly the lightest person. What do the pro's do in these circumstances? I've...

Can someone recommend a paint additive please?

I've ordered some Floetrol which hopefully comes tomorrow and I'll add 7%-10% and use the mini roller I've got. I'll make sure to use more than I'd normally would. I'll report back. Not taking the door off though.

Can someone recommend a paint additive please?

I tried with a mini roller too. The paint starts to dry so quickly even though the bathroom isn't even warm! I'm using the Fortress Trade Short Pile gloss roller sleeve (woven microfibre).

Can someone recommend a paint additive please?

Hi All, I'm using Leyland Trade Multi-Surface Paint (acrylic) for all my doors, trims, etc. but I'm not particularly happy with the finish I'm getting with a brush. I've seen on YouTube people using Floetrol but I need to order and wait for it until next week whereas I'd rather pick something...

Can someone please identify this window handle type please

No. What I mean is I want to change the handle for a new one, do I have to look for a wedge casement fastener or is there another type of handle I can choose from?

Advice needed on bathroom window that doesn't close properly

I can see where it appears to be rubbing on the inside of the window frame on a couple of parts of the frame. I haven't inspected the hinges to be fair. Thanks for replying too.

Advice needed on bathroom window that doesn't close properly

Hi All, We've a wooden bathroom window which has one main opening window and one very small one. Both of them need to be slammed really hard in order to close them. I'm not good at heights so can't go outside to see. Is there a trick to sanding down edges of wooden windows to stop them jamming...

    Weird shower problem...advice needed please.

He's a plumber. He fitted a new bath and didn't touch the overhead shower or shower pump. He drained down the cold water cylinder in the loft as well as the hot water tank as the bath didn't have any valves on the pipes to shut off the feed. Could it be an airlock?

    Weird shower problem...advice needed please.

Hi All, We've just had a new bath fitted. We have a shower above the bath fed via a pump on its own mixer valve. Today was the first day of trying to have a shower. The water was way too hot and when trying to turn the temp down the pressure also dropped, eventually stopping the water flow the...

Re-applying bathroom floor tiles...advice needed please

Hi All, I have 4 x 40cm x 40cm tiles to go back down in our bathroom as we had a leak from the bath and I've replaced a couple of rotten floorboards. All the tiles have been put down 30 years ago directly on to floorboards using flexible adhesive. As I've not mixed up powered adhesive before am...
