    Cut roof instead of trusses

You do seem to have a bee in your bonnet nosey, if he and whoever else chooses to spend their 'free time' on a roof then there is no financial cost, which is presumably what you're getting at, unless you're just trolling now?

    Fire Regs

Good quality security T25 torque needed

The Toolstation one isn't even stocked anymore and isn't a security one anyway. If you want to buy a single security bit online you will pay a premium either in the cost of the item or for delivery. Or god forbid you phone up a local tool shop who will probably be able to get one if they don't...

If the frame was reinforced it'd be OK, otherwise yes through bolts are probably the way to go, perhaps with white plastic bolt caps on the outside? Assuming there's actually enough space to get bolts through ....

    Soak away very slow

    Drain cover handles

Someone has screwed through the cap which is why you broke it, anyway you need to stick a screwdriver in the slot and the handle should come out. Then you'll be probably be asking how to lift it out because it's jammed.

How to get cupboard door to close?

Yes probably the weight distorting thing, probably a slim spacer under one corner or similar would get things back to square, try grabbing the carcass with two hands and try and twist it slightly in various ways to see if the door closes to try and work out where you need to fit a spacer.

    Birdmouth in middle of rafter

BCO's will (not always) expect a U Value calc to prove whatever spec has been mooted is being installed is up to standards, its not their job to do your donkey work.

Replacing old UPVC window with a smaller one... how to fill gap?

£1000 sounds extreme, have you tried a few other suppliers? You would use frame extenders to fill the gap, normally available from the same place you buy the window so as to ensure compatibility.

Tricky conservation area situation: replacing windows, help!

As for the windows you'll likely have to suck it up and do what he wants, unless you want to go through an appeal, precedents don't really exist in planning any more. The Head Of Planning at your Local Authority can overrule the CO but you're unlikely to be able to communicate directly with...
