    Extractor Fan in small office

Are they OK at ground level? I was thinking of getting the unit and putting it in a box with a vented front?

    Extractor Fan in small office

Just noticed that there is an existing 'hole' for a tumble dryer in there, would it be easier to get one of those new inline ones and connect that to the hole and have it on the floor? Might be less of a pain in the neck

How to cap off isolating valves

I will have a look at the Combi Boiler pipe work and see if i can identify this, the pipe work though will still be there (to a point) as this is where the hot and cold feeds go out to the new extension. This part of the project is just to enable me to remove the pipe work that was under the sink.

How to cap off isolating valves

No they are not buried, they are all visible. Regarding the cold i can remove this as i can stop the feed via the tap. On the hot site, i will have to look in the combi boiler cupboard to see if there is a hot isolator up there somewhere to enable me to remove this pipework i think. Regarding...

How to cap off isolating valves

Sounds like the best method would be to remove as much as possible i totally agree. In my kitchen there is an internal stop valve in the kitchen on the wall (not under the sink) I do recall trying to turn this once before and couldn't. I will have another look at this over the weekend and see...

    Kitchen to Office Conversion

What i am going to do is remove the top layer of floor tiles. I believe that the kitchen itself is part floor boards part concrete. Once i have removed the tiles i will put some plastic down and see if there is any water after a couple of days. I might take up one of the floor boards to see how...

    Kitchen to Office Conversion

Quick note on this, existing floor is part tiled on top of tiles. I guess that when the house was originally built it was a coal store or a pantry or something (1930s). Would it be better to remove all of the tiles (both skins) and remove the concrete and joist it up to allow ventilation etc? or...

    Kitchen to Office Conversion

Hi all Looking for a way forward. I am currently looking at converting my old kitchen into an office and need a heating solution, looks like a solid concrete floor so not much chance of being able to install a radiator in there without it becoming a real pain. So, radiator is out. Underfloor...

Hanging a door in out of square frame

ok so what we are saying here is work out where it is larger than the doorway. I have a 1800mm level and it does look like its just a few mm out in places. When we say offer the door up I guess you mean put the door against the opening and draw a line on the inside of the door to see what is it...

Hanging a door in out of square frame

Hi I have a 686mm door which I need to hang. Just measured the frame size and it is not entirely square it is 690mm at the top and 691mm a bit further down and then ends at 686mm at the bottom. Shall I just take a few mm off of the entire length, I'm not entirely sure which side it is out, to...
