Dust in the keypad speaker ….keypad cable ran with mains cable….faulty keypad dry joint ….ect ect ect

You need to find out what the model of the black cased receiver is …there are two red buttons one will probably get it into learn mode , without further info it’s anybody’s guess

Just fit a modern alternative….as long as you have the correct amount of cores to the bellbox …4 minimum …5+ better

Fit a pyronix twin alert ( speaker and internal sounder ) if you can’t get the correct balance of entry exit and alarm tones from the speaker ….i find the larger speakers too loud on a domestic system …post picture of the speaker you are using at the moment

You only have to remove the one with 4 wires connected as this provides the smartcom power ….worth a go …
