    Radiator hot feed, cold return

I live in an "upside-down house", boiler on upper floor, problem with almost the last rad on the downstairs circuit. Combi/condensing boiler. Last week this rad became 'tepid' but the feed pipe to the rad was very hot (stoplock end), return, stone cold. First job, remove the head of the TRV...

Confused, not dazed but definitely confused.

Blocked cold feed? Test cold feed pipe from F&E tank to where it joins system (should be near pump or air separator) with a magnet. If sticks, likely to be blocked. Solution is cut out blocked part(s) and replace with new pipework.

May I suggest you may have a blocked cold feed causing it to over heat. Locate cold feed and put a magnet on it!

    PLEASE Help Me !!!!!!

The gravity feed pressure on the cold side was very slow when filling a bath. It took around 1 hour to run and fill a bath so the cold water feed was tapped into the mains instead and the cold gravity blocked off.

Pumped htg gravity hot water open vent & cold feed advic

Hello, I am after a bit advice regarding my parents heating system please, notably the (possibly) incorrect teeing in of the cold feed. As a bit of history originally they had a parkray with a primatic cylinder which about 30 years ago was changed to a Baxi Bermuda back boiler, indirect...

Downstairs radiators don't heat up while upstairs do

If the cold feed is blocked it will be a slug of iron oxide. Hence the magnet. The cold feed is normally the 15mm pipe connected inbetween the 22mm vent and the pump. The vent and cold feed should be no more than 150mm apart. If you don't have a strong magnet (I don't!) turn the cold mains...

    Central Heating

Sounds like your cold feed is blocked. Take a magnet and put it on the cold feed pipe where it tee's into the flow pipe and see if it sticks.

    Block feed? Magnetic copper pipe!!!!!

Further to an earlier topic of mine I've finally been up the loft armed with a magnet and sure enough I have a fatal attraction on the flow around the cold feed (not up the feed itself) which appears to be magentic for almost 6 inches upstream (boiler direction). I have been told on this...
