    2nd storey rear extension

Yes I get what you are saying now but originally didn’t know whether the 2nd storey was just looked at by itself as being 3m and therefore ok and not together with the ground floor. It’s within 2m of the side boundary’s but not 7m off the rear boundary. So yes I clearly need formal planning...

    2nd storey rear extension

Thanks for the reply. So it doesn’t matter that my rear extension already has formal planning and the first floor extension isn’t going beyond the maximum depth of 3m? You’re saying that when it’s both together, the max is 3m for both? Do i have that correct? Thanks

    Loft conversion

Yes I understand all that, I’m more just looking to be told of ways it can be done and if it can be done, so I can weigh up what kind of money it is going to cost me. To see whether it’s worth while. The other things you mention are not going to be an issue. Thanks

    Loft conversion

Looking to do a loft conversion. Current joists are 3inch. Between the floor and ceiling timbers I only have 1.9m . So assuming I may have to install 6 - 8 inch ?? Joists beside current ones, I would need to raise my ceiling timbers by about 400mm. So my question relating to my 1st photo is 1...

    2nd storey rear extension

Evening So I built a single storey rear extension. It projected 7m off the back wall to finish flush with the end of my garage. The garage wall was used as a skin of my extension and therefore classed as a side extension, so I had planning and was completing under a building notice. Now I have...

A customer had the above pump fitted 2 years ago by swale. It’s situated in the loft with along with cold water tank, cylinder in airing cupboard below. They had problems with pump pulsating and swale could not solve it. I removed shower cartridge, cleaned debris off and run pump without...

    Drainage

I’m a plumber but do very little under ground drainage. My mate wants to relocate an internal stack to external. That parts not an issue, however the drain is about 1.5m below the drain cover/surface level. Can the pipe be channelled in just below surface level and dropped in to the drain or do...

    Artificial grass sub base

Hi all, am doing my fake grass ans want to finish up tomorrow. I have plenty of type 1 and probably 10 - 20mm Sharp sand on top. In hindsight I wish I used grano dust on top so it doesn’t wash away in time and was a tough solid layer to put then grass on. ..... Anyway, I still have room to put a...

    Fake grass

Hello, probably been asked a million times How to fix fake grass? Some say timber frame, some say that will rot. Some say no border and just pin it down all over ? Was also told there is a new base out it that’s better than sand. No idea what the person was on about to be honest

    Aqualisa pushfit shower wall outlet

Yeah it definitely isn’t suitable if the pipe moves back. I couldn’t get in the wall to clip it, but i frilled either side of the ply and fed a couple of cable ties through to pull the pipe tight against the wall. Time will tell I guess I’ve emailed aqualisa aswell for confirmation on it.

    Aqualisa pushfit shower wall outlet

I’ve looked and I can’t find anything and all the photos just say push fit and show that photo. I did find it odd that it would basically pull on and off. It screws to the wall and if the pipe is rigid and clipped it will go over the o ring and not move ...... Maybe I was missing a piece that...

    Aqualisa pushfit shower wall outlet

With the instructions, all it came with was how to convert to 22mm Nothing about grab rings etc, plus had no way to depth mark for how much the pipe had to be sticking out the wall, so if had a grab ring there would be no way of getting back off .... but you had to push it on a piece of pipe to...

    Aqualisa pushfit shower wall outlet

The two parts in that photo you an see was there. There isn’t any room for anything else to fit. It’s setup to take 15mm but you can twist the outerplastic part out via the larger lugs, remove the 15mm part and then it accepts 22mm part. There isn’t any room for any additional grab ring to be fitted
