Waste pipes from washing machine leaking

Oh please - don't go there. We are talking specifically about push fit 32mm and 40mm waste pipe for internal domestic waste runs serving basins, baths, sinks etc. that is prevalent in the pictures I am not talking about main drainage, soil pipe or any other larger gauge pipework where ring seal...

Pipe slightly short in a compression fitting.

Absolutely no bother at all - as long as the olive is fully onto the pipe, and the pipe has an insert and it's at least few mm extra then there will be no issues. As it's the olive that creates the seal and that has plenty of pipe past the olive to support it then crack on.

Waste pipes from washing machine leaking

Yep - no self respecting pro that I know would use it, invariably it is a leak waiting to happen.

    Question about mains water pressure/connection

OK - that's a bit more expected. If your mains is only dropping .2 of a bar from static with 2 outlets open then your mains isn't that bad - seen a lot worse. Now it's time to check what you max flow is - ideally a check of the flow from as close to the end of the MDPE as possible. That'll...

    How to fit HepVo here

The tube and cover that goes into the top of the trap would usually sit in a removal catch cup with a McAlpine shower trap, that cup retains the water and the tube then sits in that cup creating the seal. If that cup is missing then it won't work either. Adding in a HEPvO trap into that run...

    Question about mains water pressure/connection

That's not right - unless I'm going crackers too - static/standing pressure would usually always be higher and when the outlets are opened the pressure would usually drop, if anything, certainly wouldn't expect it to rise. Also dynamic flow of 9.75 L/min with a dynamic pressure @ 3 bar wouldn't...

'tank in a tank' hot water tank issue - is it broken?

Unihub is by Unico SYS (UCC) I believe but it's not one of the better known manufacturers TBF and it's more of a complete solution provider rather than a component manufacturer. They are better known in the US as they provide a full HVAC system with AC and ducted warm air solutions, with the hub...

    Radiator air

Towel rails tend to the most popular rad for retaining air in the system, they tend to be @ the highest point in most heating systems, especially with an upstairs bathroom or in an attic if that's been converted and becomes the highest point.

Waste pipes from washing machine leaking

Get rid of all the grey pipe fittings, push fit couplers are terrible things, replace the connection up to the sink trap too. As suggested replace it all with solvent weld (SW), apart from the final connection that drops into the floor, that will need to be compression and fit a proper...

    Question about mains water pressure/connection

Increasing the system pipework can increase flow, it will have little or no effect on pressure. If the dynamic pressure is low <=1bar then increasing to 22mm will usually have a more noticeable effect on flow, if the dynamic pressure is higher =>2bar then increasing the pipe size will have less...

Advice on replacing silicone around bath and large gaps

My trick with gaps like that, as long as they don't exceed like 15mm, is fill the gap with silicone and then using a card or silicone former and scrape it flat to the tile then let it set for an hour, then come back and do the external fillet. Another idea before the sealant is to blast the...

    Question about mains water pressure/connection

Oh dear, what a waste of time doing that mains replacement work just to jam 15mm speedfit and couplers onto it, that aren't actually designed to be used underground like that. So yep, that all needs to be replaced and as was suggested using the hockey stick pipe plus a proper MDPE coupler onto...

    Shower Tray and Joists

If it is to be tanked and sealed at the corners/edges then that's certainly a great idea to stop any moisture getting to the P5. A 6mm cementitious board over the top will also help guard it from any water, if the seal was ever compromised. Will it be a full depth stone resin tray? If so that...

    Shower Tray and Joists

Personally I always replace P5 chipboard where a tray has to sit with OSB3/ply. Too many times I've been called in to re-do a shower and found the chipboard floor below has got wet and turned into mush. I also take the approach that the tray must be supported properly around it's outside edges...

    Ch pump leak, condensation?

If it's leaking then the O ring isn't doing its job. That'll be either because the new pump heads O ring isn't the right size for the housing or the old housing isn't exactly the right fit. Did you get the correct pump for the 105e - 7722642 (248042)? - it should have come with the full...
