It may seem like an Odd question - but the 32 channel DVR is cheaper than the 16 channel ... I'm just trying to understand if there was a technical reason (their sales said they were getting rid of stock)

DVR 32 channel or 2x16 channel?

Need to replace an aging failing DVR in a business (its a cheap home system) Looking at Hikvision. Having 2 16 channel DVRs - I can see the advantage of having a backup if one fails and re-jigging important cameras, but apart from that, it there any reason not to go for a 32 channel DVR? (I...

Relative has a business, the reception has what I think is Mahogany everywhere - Door frames / Skirting / doors / stairs Whilst it is a good quality wood, it does not suit what they want, it's very dark and old fashioned looking, and they want to brighten everything up. Is there any...

aerial amplifier for Hotel, 35 rooms

That all makes sense. I did have a £10 signal tester but that isn't going to cut it! It's not a simple case of swapping like for like. I did just have a thought, that the cooling fan in the existing amplifier might have dust in it causing an overheating issue, especially with the recent hotter...

aerial amplifier for Hotel, 35 rooms

The existing system was installed some years ago, long before i've had and involvement. IV no idea why powercycling resolves signal issues. When you say it needs setting up properly i.e gain controls what's involved in that? Worked in IT for some years, I can pick up anything technical. Thanks!

It been too long to have the original returned. Had the mixer bar replaced with a like for like and... it works just fine now. There was a filter washer fitted on the Hot, and the other filter washer on the rain head outlet (not on the cold inlet) Makes me thinks the fitter made the mistake and...

Can Themostatic Mixer Values be faulty?

thanks for the replies. It is the correct way up, diverts from hand held to rain head with the dial on the left. I've just checked the temperature of the water is at 65 degrees (the same as the hot out of the tap so no cold is getting through) - turning the dial doesn't affect the temperature...

Plastering a previously damp wall (from a leak not rising damp)

We've got a ground floor wall, vinyl paper covering, I did think it had a problem with rising damp. I've now discovered the concealed toilet cistern on the other side has been leaking for some years when flushed. The Wall is now drying out. The question is can it just be skimmed over and...

Got someone semi retired bathroom fitter / carpenter doing a bathroom for me whilst I do another (a bit slower than the fitter!). They are *adament* tilers do not use a feather edge, its only for plasterers. They use a 1200 spirit level, and their "eye" and "he's been doing it for 20 years". I...

rcd spur keeps tripping, fused spur working fine

Thanks, nothing outside as far as I'm aware. I'm unsure if there's anything dangerous that needs to be fixed - is it safe keeping the standard fused spur which doesn't trip?
