Wow, yes definitely crazy prices! This is actually only for my spare bedroom and we will be painting over the undercoat with a dark colour anyway, so is it *really* necessary to get such a high quality/expensive undercoat?

It really won't come away easily, have used a scraper, sandpaper and also thinner (when I thought it was adhesive)...so eleccy sander seems to be the only option!

Hi! Thanks for your reply :D There doesn't seem to be any problem with the walls - it is the lack of ventilation, because of this the rooms get lots of condensation, especially the wall below the window which is where this special paper was, so I don't think it is damp per se....so should...

That entire back wall is wood save for the alcove which is the original wall, the rest is built in wardrobes/cupboards. Hideous, which is why I hope to rectify it. :D
