Has anyone ever done/seen this? If so, what do you think?

Seriously considering ceiling to floor curtains as a feature wall to cover up some hideous built in cupboards rather than sanding, painting and trying to minimise their appearance with press catches as suggested previously by someone else, I think the pictures of what I mean are in my profile under 'spare room'.................

We have noisy neighbours on that side too, so perhaps they will minimise sound too, but I just can't decide if it will look any good or just naff so if anyone has witnessed this can you post your opinions?

Thanks in advance. :)

I've only ever hung up tapestries for people so I personally couldn't comment on how it would look over a whole wall..... (maybe a glance at a few copies of Beautiful Homes' or silmilar would help).
However if you're going to hang heavy duty curtains you'll need strong poles and good fixings, and they'll need to draw back.
I don't think there would be much sound insulation benefit from them though, but you could put some sound deadening stuff inside the cupboards, against the party wall.
John :)
