Bought some decent laminate floor for the bathroom. Pretty thick stuff - rubber on bottom. Are there any issues with type of underlay that needs to be used for this? For example, any reason why I can't use the thick slightly padded silver stuff?

True enough. To be honest, it all needs another coat mainly. And the first guy tried to paint gloss on top of gloss which apparently doesnt work well. Nah. Havent seen their work. Maybe I should have? At least I can refuse to pay if this is crap.

Ok thanks for clarifying. Been reading the party wall explanatory booklet and I thought it was saying if you build a wall, in effect, up to the boundary then the neighbour could in effect then treat it as a party wall. But thanks for clarification.

Hmm but isnt this still covered as a wall build onto a boundary?

Hmmm. Maybe I've misunderstood but by adding a wall that runs up to a boundary it becomes, in essence, a party wall.
