    Worcester Greenstar 24i Heating Issue

Worcester Greenstar 24i Condensing boiler (see pic 1) approx. 10 years old. Normally most boiler problems resolved myself, this however has me stumped. One by Poisonata posted 6 Sep 2020 at 5:20 PM Boiler appears to be working fine. The Honeywell controller (see pic 2) successfully activates...

Saunier Duval moves between 0.5 and 2.6 bar!

P.S. Do not be tempted to find the first valve that resembles a car tyre valve & start pumping air into it. Make sure it's the one directly connected to the expansion vessel. Else you may end up blowing air into the boiler auto bleed valve.

Saunier Duval moves between 0.5 and 2.6 bar!

As Ian correctly stated sounds highly suspicious of the expansion vessel. Either needs re pressurising or the internal bladder has breached / needs replacing. To re pressurise locate the expansion vessel (fairly large, round, relatively flat (but not always)) normally situated at the rear of the...

    Losing pressure, and patience

The PRV (pressure release valve) is worth checking. If at any time it was activated during the install, sludge/metal sloughing from slowly corroding radiators can stick to the rubber washer and it fails to reseal perfectly. Where the PRV overflow exits your attic to the outside of your property...

    110 mm Soil Pipe Separation

That sounds like a plan. Thank you @dilalio

    110 mm Soil Pipe Separation

Two lengths of 110 mm pipe in my loft (see photo of exact pipe) used as ducting for bathroom fan > outside. Simply push fitted together. Pulling/twisting them apart is proving tricky as the rubber internal gasket at the join is obviously doing its job well. Any thoughts on how this can be...

    Victorian Floor Restoration

Thanks for the link. Managed to get replacement tiles for £26. Took a few afternoons with the tile cutter/angle grinder. Including grout and few other bits managed to complete the job for under £40. Thank you again. Before: After

    Victorian Floor Restoration

I'm currently restoring a Victorian Hall floor. Some time in the past a channel has been excavated to accommodate radiator pipes then crudely screeded over. There is little chance to get exact matching tiles (Hexagonal 4 inch diameter, small black/white 1 inch across) so I've resigned myself...

    Ravenheat Boiler prob

The only suggestion I can make is to ensure the expansion vessel pressure is correct. The boiler needs to be switched off and the circulating liquid cool (leave it off overnight). I have repressurised a boiler expansion vessel before using a car tyre foot pump with pressure guage. You will need...

    Vibrating Pipes

The inlet valve to the water tank in the loft. The valve the ballcock float is attached to. These are pretty cheap (under a tenner) and easy to change once the cold water feed is isolated. My experience of valves/washers (I'm not a plumber) is once worn they can cause a water hammer effect...
