    It's more a question is why do all my screws stop?! There's about 8cm of wood! It's like they are hitting concrete!! Is the pilot hole not enough? Too narrow, too wide?! I assumed they screws would be happy on their merry way once given a nice little pilot hole to jump in too!

    Removing caulking and cork

    So, my old laminate flooring was obviously a DIY job (and not a very good one). I'm having carpets down, and when removing the cork was was shoved in the expansion gap, I've found a section that was caulked on. Any ideas how to get it off? If I try grab it with pliers, all I get is a few mm.
