    Data Cabinet Help

Is there a preferred manufacturer of data cabinets or are they all the same and just get the best priced. I assume i will need a 6U or 9U. Got al the cables pulled through now so need to get a cabinet ordered to terminate them in.

    Smoke/Heat/Co2 Alarm Recommendations

Thanks for all the recommendations. Glad I went with Aico. Have only heard good things about them. Also the test switch is a great idea. All fired up last weekend and working fine.

    Screws for floor deck

Thanks everyone. If there is no reason to use specialist screws to fix the deck then i will just stick with the forgefast screws from toolstation. I have used these throughout the build and found them to be a happy medium of being better than the cheap multipacks but still cheap enough. They do...

    Screws for floor deck

I am due to start laying the deck on my ground floor joists. It's 22mm chipboard to be glued and screwed to the joists. Am I correct in thinking 60mm long screws are correct for this? If so are these the best <LINK> screws for the job? If not what are the best - I will need a couple of...

    Smoke/Heat/Co2 Alarm Recommendations

Got everything wired over the weekend. All heads wired and linked. Will be using the combine co heads rather than stand alone ones for the extra cost I thought sticking with the same brand heads everywhere was best especially. Got the identifier switch installed as suggested so hopefully it...

    S Plan Plus with Nest

ericmark - I will go back to the guys that put the system together but i am slightly confused (for the record i am trying to understand how it works, i am not planning on doing this myself). I thought the underfloor heating has its own heating system that takes information from each of the...

    S Plan Plus with Nest

I meant to have the boiler running automatically when needed rather than me plugging it in for a few hours to heat it all up. Not free hot water - That would be impressive.

    S Plan Plus with Nest

I am looking for some help if i may. The house was re plumbed a few months ago and i am now having the electrics completed. As part of the electrical finals i have asked the electrician to wire the central heating/Hot water system so that i can finally do away with running the boiler for a few...

    Smoke/Heat/Co2 Alarm Recommendations

Are the bases all the same for the Aico models? As in if i install a heat only detector i could swap at a later date for a combined unit? In the garage is it sufficient to just place a stand alone battery CO alarm on top of the boiler? I may go for the combined Aico units in the house to rooms...

    Installing PIR inbetween floor joists

Thanks marty. I have a lot of PIR left over/available FOC and my BCO seems to prefer the PIR route even though he excepts both methods are acceptable. Obviously this would be my preference as i have all the materials or certainly most available without buying in more.

    Installing PIR inbetween floor joists

I am going to start insulating the floor in my extension and the rest of the ground floor. I will be using 100mm PIR and pan to staple a 10mm thick 100mm deep foam insulation strip to the joist and then cut the PIR 10mm less than the gap between joists so that it will fit in nicely when the...

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

Is this what I am looking for for the EV charger? https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/WYWRCBL50B2.html

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

The EV charger requires a standard size rcbo. I assume that can be installed alo guide the mini rcbo's for the rest of the circuits?

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

I managed to get the 23 way empty duplex panel. This will be perfect coupled with rcbo's for each circuit.

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

Is there any reg that staes that spare ways can't be blanked off? If I had 8 ways blanked off would that be an issue? I had always planned on a few to allow for future add ons as and when required (EV chargers etc)

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

They only have the 29 way units in stock. https://www.falconelectrical.co.uk/wylex-nmd1112-23-way-100a-main-switch-flexible-duplex-unit-1 I assume other than being a bit bigger there is no issue with going with that just need a few more blank plates

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

I had struggled to find and "empty" unit. The plan was to buy the NMDRS24HI and removed the rcd's and then install rcbos to all circuits. The one you have in the link is basically the empty version I was looking for. On that basis I assume mini and standard rcbos are fine to use Thanks

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

Why would this be non compliant if sold as part of the wylex current range. I have yet to find a CU with 20+ ways that is not a duplex unit.

    RCBO Vs Mini RCBO

Is there any way of telling if this -> NMDRS24HI 24 is a newer or older? I cant seem to find an answer in their literature.
