Can a wider kitchen window replace the exsting one ?

Thanks Doggit. Above the kitchen is a new upstairs extension. I will ask the builder to remove the window, install a new one and make good the gap. Mutley56

Can a wider kitchen window replace the exsting one ?

Thanks again, a new steel lintel is fitted well above the window and supported either side on pad stones. The breeze blocks are a filler to the left in the original pre existing window opening. I'll post a better picture as the second one was a rubbish shot. I think that the window simply screws...

Can a wider kitchen window replace the exsting one ?

Thanks tigers I should have said that the windows are in the kitchen Thanks for the reply. The kitchen is being revamped. The sink is moving to the left and it would mean facing half a window then breeze blocks when standing in front of the repositioned sink. Above and below the window are the...

Can a wider kitchen window replace the exsting one ?

Season's greetings, Would it be a straight forward job for a wider window to be installed to replace the existing one on the far left hand side? There are breeze blocks, of whatever they are called, to the immediate left of the window that can be removed. Picture attached. Thanks Mutley56

Pattress box 15mm spacer / extender

Thanks fellas, I'll try adjusting the extender first, if no good then it'll have to be moving the box. Thanks again Mutley56

Pattress box 15mm spacer / extender

That's exactly right. I will attempt to cut a 20mm one down to size as no 15mm ones are out there. Thanks again Mutley56

Pattress box 15mm spacer / extender

The box is in. Wall Tiles are on. Half height tiled wall. Shaver point crosses junction between wall and tiled wall below. Tile cut covered by face plate for neatness so the gap behind the top of front plate of the shaver socket needs to be filled (15mm).

Pattress box 15mm spacer / extender

Hi all, Does anyone know where I can purchase a couple of 15mm spacers / extender rings to fill the gap between a shaver front plate and the back box in a stud wall. I have found 10mm and 20mm ones but 15mm is what I need. Thanks in advance. Mutley56

dear all, Newly plastered bathroom painted with Leyland super latex, then 2 coats of Leyland acrylic eggshell. Wanted to change the wall colour from brilliant to white to more of an off white. By mistake, a coat of kitchen / bathroom paint has been applied to the walls. Not a great finish. Can...

Thanks all for the replies. I am happy with the build to date. I just wanted to know if there was a normally accepted practice in this regard.

Holding back money until building works completed

Contract says weekly payments. I have honoured this to date. At this time, 13% of contract price remains outstanding. I thought to retain the final payment until full completion, amounting to approx 6%. I will take your advice. Thank you

new shaver socket on a half tiled bathroom wall.

Dear all, My new bathroom is being half tiled around the walls. A shaver socket is being installed with the top level of the tiles at a level half the way up the shaver socket, if you know what I mean. Consequently, the top half of the shaver socket is away from the wall by quite a way but the...

Holding back money until building works completed

Dear all, I understand that it is normal to hold back a certain amount of money from the building contractor until the project is complete. On an £84,000 house extension, what percentage is reasonable until the project is fully completed and the Local Autjority Building Control completion...

First floor extension. This was ripped out. I was just wondering what it might have been part of. Thanks for your opinions. Mutley56
